The expansion of partnerships with P4H was discussed at the RCHD

On September 13-14, 2018, in Astana between the Ministry of Health, RCHD and representatives of GIZ, SDC and the P4H global network was held the Joint Mission on expanding cooperation and strengthening Kazakhstan's position as a regional center for promoting P4H partnership in Central Asia and Russian-speaking countries.

Kazakhstan was visited by Dr Franz von Roenne, GIZ Senior Advisor Strategy, Placella Enrichetta, SDC Health Advisor for Eastern Europe and Central Asia and Bayarsaikhan Dorjsuren, P4H Senior Health System Advisor.

Within two days, the participants discussed the expansion of partnerships between GIZ, SDC, P4H and RCHD in strengthening the health care system, financing and social protection of health for Universal Health Coverage (UHC) in Kazakhstan. Also was considered the possibility of appointing the RCHD as a subregional center for promoting the P4H partnership in Central Asia. In addition, preliminary joint activities and action plans within the P4H framework were discussed.

Following the results of the meeting, it was decided to establish a regional hub on the basis of the RCHD for the Promotion and Strengthening of Cooperation between P4H and Central Asia countries and the joint implementation of a number of research projects for Kazakhstan on improving the health care system, payment methods and mechanisms, and the financing system. The meeting ended with the formation of a joint action matrix for each of the proposed projects for more detailed discussion.
