The National Health Accounts are a tool for the comprehensive accounting of health care costs, as well as the evidence base for making sound strategic decisions. As a source of information on the flow of funds in the system, the National Health Accounts became the basis for supporting the introduction of compulsory social health insurance, and a number of other reforms in the system. Various sources of statistical information are used in the formation of accounts, which necessitates close cooperation in the formation of National Accounts with the Statistics Committee of the Ministry of Economy, the National Bank and the Ministry of Finance. Support for the formation of National Accounts at the state level will make it possible to achieve progress in terms of good governance in accordance with the principles of the OECD.
On March 31, 2017, the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan hosted a roundtable discussion on National Health Accounts with the participation of the National Chamber of Entrepreneurs, non-governmental organizations in the field of health, regional health departments and representatives of universities.
